2 Sarah morton’s life Sarah Morton was born in holland and sailed to the new world on the ship called the “ Anne” Her father died the first winter And in the spring her mother married “Kempton Goodman Sarah lived in a village called “ Plimoth Plantation” Sarah Makes breakfast only her mother and father have chairs to sit in and Sarah has to stand Then sarah has to milk the Goats when she is done she goes muck the garden When Sarah goes to school she learned how to write in chalk

3 Colonial clothes Image from twitter.com Boys and men wore shirts , Breches and waistcoats everyday in cold weather they also wore capes and coats There close were made out of wool, silk, and velvet Girls and women wore dresses which were called robes or gowns Most girls had two dresses they wore one on a week day and the other one they wore it to church on saturday Woman wore different types of hoopes under there dresses to give it sape

4 Chores Older girls did the same chores as there mothers
Girls of age six were able to operate a spinning wheel they also sewed, kneaded bread, and help care for younger siblings Boys also used jackknives to carve wood into spoons, bowls, and bread boards

5 Babies in the colonial times
Cradles in Colonial America were long and narrow, the purpose was so a child was no able to curl up and would have to stretch their legs out it would help the child to get ready to walk on it own Learning how to walk was very important to protect a child from hitting his head During meal time, the saying "Children are to be seen, not heard" was true. They were to eat as fast as possible, silently, and leave the table as soon as they were done. In some cases, children didn't even sit at the table, they stood behind the adults and food was handed back to them.

6 School In the schools there were only one teacher
