Objective: you will be able to identify two rival Muslim empires that arose in Persia and India during the time of the Ottoman Empire Standard:8.4.7.D. Explain how conflict and cooperation among groups and organizations have impacted the history of the world.

Ottoman Empire While al-Andalus was in decline, a new Muslim power was arising in the east. This power was a dynasty of Turkish Muslims called the Ottomans. Warriors who first captured Byzantine cities and then expanded into southeastern Europe. They later captured Syria, Palestine, and Egypt from other Muslim rulers. In 1453 they ended the Byzantine Empire when they captured Constantinople. They renamed it Istanbul. Empire lasted until the early 1900s
