2. Today’s Goal: Finish reading and analyzing a story related to Hanukkah.

Analyze literary elements in the short story, “Zlateh the Goat” (pp. 128 – 134).
Identify two examples of personification.
Identify examples of alliteration.
Name two types of conflict in “Zlateh the Goat.”
Determine the theme of “Zlateh the Goat” and support your answer with evidence.

Who can summarize what we read yesterday in “Zlateh”? Let’s start with the setting and characters.
In what way is the setting significant to this story? Or is it?
