2. VMET – verification of military experience and training
Document provided to all eligible departing service members and assists them in verifying previous experiences and training to potential employers, writing resume’s, interviewing for jobs, negotiating credits at schools and obtaining certificates and licensures.

Form should be received AT LEAST 120 days before separation.
3-6 month information lag on any updates to the VMET from time of entry.
All separating personnel can access from the VMET website via milconnect, choose DoDTAP (eForm and VMET) and follow instructions. CAC or DS Logon required.
Specifically to Navy, if the form cannot be accessed, visit any Navy Fleet and Family Service Center to have a copy printed. Verification of identity required before copy will be given.
