Dodging the truth of the resurrection v62-64 Guards are posted at the entrance to the tomb v65-66 They sealed the stone in place The Jewish leaders called the resurrection a ‘deception’ v64 1st ‘deception’: Jesus was Messiah 2nd ‘deception’: He’d risen as the Son of God They think the resurrection is a bad thing If Jesus is risen, they must make Him King Lk 19v14 The guards see the power of God, but deny it 28v1-4

Dodging the truth of the resurrection Disciples stole the body & claimed resurrection 28v11-15 Stopping the truth made the truth more believable Jesus didn’t die & regained consciousness in the tomb Moving the stone from the inside was impossible Leg breaking to speed up death, but Jesus already dead To ensure death: Spear in side Resn: Historically, supernaturally tru, tru in your life Ep 1v13-14

Embrace the truth of the resurrection Those who embrace the risen Christ Are not afraid & are comforted v5 Believe His Word & embrace the evidence v6 They can’t wait to tell others v7 Can’t wait to see Him for themselves v7 His resurrection fills them with awe & great joy v8 See Jesus, are welcomed, cling to Him & worship v9 Good Friday gone, Bad Saturday gone, Resurrection’s here!
