2 cede (verb) 1. to give control of something to another person or group

3 intercede (verb) 1. to try and help settle an argument
2. to speak to someone to defend or help someone else

4 pilfer (verb) 1. to steal things that are not very valuable
2. to steal a small amount of something

5 exceed (verb) 1. to be greater or more than 2. to go beyond the limit

6 precede (verb) 1. to go before

7 supersede (verb) 1. to take the place of (because old, not useful)

8 proceeds (Noun) 1. total amount of money or profit made

9 secede (verb) 1. to separate from a nation or state and become independent

10 concede (verb) 1. to admit you lost
2. to say you accept the truth/existence of something 3. to give away unwillingly

11 recede (verb) 1. to move back or away 2. to grow less or smaller

12 perceive (verb) 1. to notice or become aware
2. to think of something as being said

13 veins (noun) 1. tubes that carry blood back to the heart
2. thin lines seen on leaf or wing of insect 3. long, narrow opening in rock filled with gold/silver

14 accolade (noun) 1. an award or expression of praise

15 seizure (noun) 1. the act of taking control by force 2. taking something legally 3. (medical) your body moves uncontrolled while you are unconscious

16 sovereign (noun) 1. a king or queen 2. a British gold coin used in the past

17 reigning (noun) 1. a period of time that someone (like a king) is in charge

18 weighty (ADJ) 1. having a lot of weight (physically) 2. very important or serious

19 heirloom (noun) 1. a family object passed down through generations 2. an old type of plant still available for planting

20 unyielding (ADJ) 1. not changing or stopping 2. not flexible or soft

21 either (ADJ) 1. one or the other
