1 Development of Chiral Lewis Base as Novel Nucleophilic Catalysts and Their Application in Asymmetric Synthesis Xiaodong Michael Shi, Department of Chemistry, West Virginia University, Morgantown WV New synthetic methods from proline catalyzed nitroalkene activation: A series of new chemical transformations have been developed based on the discovery of proline as Lewis base in the activation of nitroalkene and complex organic molecules have been prepared in one-step/one-pot fashion with good yields, substrate scope and stereoselectivity.
