Soluble: Capable of being dissolved, especially easily dissolved. Solute: A substance dissolved in another substance, usually the component of a solution present in the lesser amount. Suspension: A suspension is a heterogeneous mixture in which solute-like particles settle out of a solvent-like phase some time after their introduction. Nonelectrolyte: A substance that does not exist in an ionic form in aqueous solution. Miscible: Soluble, able to be mixed to form a solution. Solution: A homogeneous mixture composed of only one phase. In such a mixture, a solute is a substance dissolved in another substance, known as a solvent. Solvent: The component of a solution that is present in the greatest amount. It is the substance in which the solute is dissolved.

Electrolyte: Any substance that dissociates into ions when dissolved in a suitable medium or melted and thus forms a conductor of electricity Immiscible: Immiscible is the property where two substances are not capable of combining to form a homogeneous mixture.
