This case study was developed by Gold Coast Institute of TAFE in conjunction with Marcus Edward Salons and Next International Salons with funding and support from the national training systems e-learning strategy, the National VET E-learning Strategy (Strategy). The 2012-2015 National VET E-learning Strategy (the Strategy) is aimed at strengthening the Australian training sectors use of new learning technologies, stimulating innovative approaches to increasing participation in training and employment, and improving the skill levels of the Australian workforce (http://flexiblelearning.net.au).

Trained our hairdressing teachers to: Format shift existing word learning resources and assessments workbooks to interactive PDF using adobe acrobat Pro X Use iPads to connect, access, collect evidence, and authenticate assessments tasks Use the following apps –PDF Expert: to complete forms and sign directly onto iPad –Evernote : e-portfolio tool to gather formative assessment and journal salon visits
