Self-Focused, Vindictive Righteous Anger Zealous for God’s Honor Compassion for the Suffering/Disadvantaged

4 Exemplified in Life of Jesus
Jesus got angry in the Temple- Matt. 21:12-13 Jesus got angry in the Synagogue- Mk. 3:1-5 Because God is holy and perfect in righteousness, He naturally hates injustice and unrighteousness.

5 “And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and He overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons.  He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.” MATTHEW 21:12-13

Building a wall was good, but not good enough. God sought to build a nation that exalted righteousness. God’s vision: A Church that exalts righteousness

10 ACTS 2:44-47 “And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.  And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts,  praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”

A church that exalts righteousness is always influenced by godly, Spirit-filled leadership. Nehemiah is an example of godly leadership.
