1 FInal Exam SpecIfıcatıons

2 Your final exam will consist of three sections: A) Reflection, B) An achievement test and C) Appendix. You must submit your exam NO LATER THAN 17th May, 2019, Wednesday.

3 A) Write a cover letter in which you reflect on the Testing and Evaluation in English Course you have taken. You can answer the following questions in your reflection. What is the most important thing you have learned in this course? Why? What is the least important thing you have learned in this course? Why? To what extent do you think you can transfer the information you have learned here into your teaching? Do you think we should add or take out an item in the syllabus of this course? Why? Do you think this project is helpful to you? Why?

4 B) Develop an achievement test for year-old learners (A2- /A2 level) for 7th/8th graders. The questions of your test must correspond to the level and specifications provided below.  C) Append the answer key, scoring criteria, and original texts.

6 READING (2 TASKS) Reading I
Task Type No. of Items Task Format Matching (Matching pictures with their descriptions) 4 (+1 example) There are 5 words or pictures of things. And there are 7 sentences (describing/explaining the word/picture). They choose which word/picture match with which sentence. 5 pictures (one as an example) and 7 definitions CEFR Descriptor: Can understand short definitions You should photocopy the original text(s) (if there is any) and append them

Multiple Cloze: Filling in gaps in a prose 6 (+1 example) There is a text with some missing words. For each gap, there is a choice of three possible answers (assessing both grammar and vocabulary) 7 gaps (one as an example) with 3 choices CEFR Descriptor: Can read for specific information and gist You should photocopy the original text(s) and append them

8 LISTENING Task Type No. of Items Task Format Gap-Filling (Filling a Form or a Table) 5 (+1 example) Give a short conversation between two people OR a short monologue. There is a form, a table, or a page of a notebook with some missing words (1-2 only). Students fill in the gaps while listening 5 gaps (plus an example) CEFR Descriptor: Can listen for names, spellings, and other simple information on daily topics Append the listening texts

Students are asked to respond to an using the content provided. CEFR Descriptor: Can respond to s by writing short simple messages when the prompts are provided Append a rubric to be used for scoring (analytic or holistic)
