Rescue / recover from waste
Knowledge – doing good – work – teaching
Idle time = wasting time

Can lead to all kinds of evil things
Can choke - Luke 8:14
Treasure in heaven – Matt. 19:21
“godliness with contentment” 1 Tim. 6:6
Not wrong to be rich
1 Tim. 6: “not highminded” “nor trust”

8. Blessing Authority 3 John 9-10 - Diotrephes
“does not acknowledge our authority”
1 Peter 5:3 “Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.”
“Lords” = arrogant, domineering spirit
Examples = model, pattern

9. Blessing Popularity “Good Name”
Prov. 22:1 “A good name is rather to be…”
Chief rulers - denied Jesus
John 12: “loved the praise of men”
Paul is an example
Phil.3:8 “I have suffered the loss of all things”

10. Blessing Moral Living Not made better by failures of others
Luke 15 – Prodigal son and Elder son
Luke 18: “Pharisee and Publican”
Pharisee bragged he was better
Compared to other men
Publican “God be merciful to me a sinner”

11. Blessing Good Health Thankful for good health
Acts 10:38 “went about doing good”
May hinder some from obeying
Got plenty of time
2 Pet. 3:9-11 – thief in the night
Prov. 27:1 “Boast not thyself of tomorrow”
