(A) Longitudinal sonogram shows punctate hyperechoic foci deposited in the outer part of the renal pyramids in a linear fashion (arrows). Note the peripheral involvement with central sparing. A small anechoic cyst in the central part of one pyramid is seen. (B) Transverse sonogram demonstrates increased echogenicity involving a renal pyramid (arrow). These foci of increased echogenicity are consistent with crystal deposition and calcification.
