With in vivo bioluminescent imaging at day 4 post-infection, Brucella was mainly localized intraperitoneally (IP), in the liver (L), knee (K), near ankle joint (A), metatarsophalangeal (MP), metatarsotarsal articulations (MT), calcaneus (C) and ventral processes of caudal vertebrae (Ca). Note the mirrored patterns of Brucella distribution in the left and right paws and knees. Color scale represents bioluminescent signals intensity.
