A Study in the Book of James

2 Why would James have to write to the church about Spiritual Health?

3 JAMES 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings.

4 James was writing to them because he was concerned about the health of the church he was over

5 JAMES 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 

6 We will face trials What are trials?
Trials here is the Greek word “peirasmoi” and refers to persecution and trials from the world or Satan.

7 We will face trials What are trials? How are we supposed to face them?
What are they supposed to accomplish?

8 We face these things so that we may become mature in our faith

9 What do all these trials do for us?
They help us bear fruit!
