Outcomes: Be able to . . . Select any one of your Quick Writes from #1 to #8, which serves as your rough draft. Apply the final four steps in the 6-step writing process: 1) Pre-write 2) Rough draft 3) Edit 4) Type 5) Proofread 6) Print final copy, no errors

1. Edit and proof your Quick Write, using your editorial symbols.
Starter #1 Take out your comp book. Of the Quick Writes you have done so far, select the one that you think holds the greatest audience appeal, one that you could read aloud to the class. Here is a preview of what you will be doing: 1. Edit and proof your Quick Write, using your editorial symbols. 2. Evaluate your overall content: Does it make sense? Do you need to add or clarify anything? Do you need to delete any portions that are redundant? 3. If you need assistance, consult a classmate for a peer review. 4. Your final, typed draft should have no errors. No need to copy this—wait for the next slide

Starter #2 Look at the handout titled “TAPP.” Keep this page in your binder all year long, because it provides the directions for every time we create a TAPP. What do I mean by “TAPP”? Look at your handout Transforming A Paragraph into a Paper This is TAPP #1, and you may select any Quick Write we have done thus far, from QW #2 to QW #8. Your TAPP is due Wednesday, Sept. 3. Let’s go over the handout together. These are your step-by-step directions. As you complete each step, you should check it off.
