In-Text Citation referring to the works of others in your actual essay (Purdue OWL). gives credit to the source whose information you’re using (Purde OWL). *I did not use quotation marks because I am paraphrasing, not quoting.

Blended Quote using part of your own thoughts with part of someone else’s blends the thoughts together into one, new thought Ex: When choosing which part to quote, use only the “relevant…information” (Purde OWL).

Your turn Look at your Cornell Notes for the History of the Issue.
Choose one sentence that really stands out to you. Pick out specific words; try to choose as few as possible.

Now blend! Some ideas: Although A. Realguy says, “yadda yadda yadda,” I believe that something else is true (Yadda.com). The words “put quote here” have a powerful impact when looking at a specific part of the photo (Anna Therealguy, ACoolWebsite.com). The issue in this photo was made worse/better because “relevant quote here” (ReliableWebsite.com).
