Menthol preference index (MPI) and average number of eggs laid per female (EPF) in F0 and F1 lines.The statistical significance of MPI was assessed with a Wilcoxon signed rank test (ns  =  non-significant, **p<0.01, *p<0.05) and the EPFs were compared using a Kruskal–Wallis test (italic letters indicate the results of the multiple pairwise comparison), respectively.
