A Peek At The Week
-In reading we are continuing to direct instruction at students’ reading levels.
-In Math we will continue with our unit of measurement. Students will continue to compare objects by their length and measure objects using centimeter cubes, paperclips, and counting bears.
-Writing time this week will be spent writing a narrative story. Students get to think of a time when they felt grown up to guide their story and include a beginning, middle, and end. This week students get to turn their stories into a book with a cover page and illustrations!
-Our Core Knowledge time will continue with Social Studies and the study of Early American Civilizations. These include Hunters and Gathers, the Maya, the Inca, and the Aztecs.
Homework Ideas
-Please take time to read with your child every night for minutes.
-Reading homework should be coming home daily!
Looking Ahead
-February 6th and 9th are the dates for our second Parent Teacher Conferences. Look for an from me to confirm your time. Times will be the same as the first conferences, if the scheduled time does not work we will figure out a new time.
Extra News
-Our room is rather warm as the heater kicks on and off. If your child would like a water bottle to keep on their desk they are more than welcome to!
