1 Michael Cohen testifies before Congress

2 Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former lawyer, testified before members of the House Oversight Committee in Washington. On Wednesday, Cohen answered hours of questions and he made a number of accusations against President Trump including how the President allegedly spoke with Roger Stone about WikiLeaks and welcomed advance word of efforts to disrupt the 2016 presidential election. In his opening statement to Congress, Cohen called the president a "racist," a "con man" and "a cheat." One of the main concerns in Congress is that Russian intelligence officers stole s from the Democrats and others as part of a concerted attack on the U.S. election. And it still isn't clear how much Donald Trump and his campaign knew about Russia's efforts or whether the material WikiLeaks obtained had originated from the work of Russia's intelligence services. Cohen was asked whether he believed it was possible that the president and his family might have been willing to collude with the Russians. He said yes. Cohen has already pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about the Russia investigation. Wednesday's hearing, which played out amid fiercely partisan scenes, contained revelations that hinted at future and deeper legal exposure for the President.

3 In Other News President Donald Trump's Hanoi summit with Kim Jong Un, ended with no joint agreement after Kim insisted all US sanctions be lifted on his country. President Trump said Kim offered to take some steps toward dismantling his nuclear arsenal but not enough to warrant ending the debilitating sanctions regime on the country. “Sometimes you have to walk,” President Trump said during a news conference following the conclusion of the summit, which broke up earlier than planned. “This was just one of those times.” Quarterback Nick Foles will get the chance to enter free agency. Philadelphia Eagles executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman told reporters Wednesday the team won't place the franchise tag on Foles. He led the squad to its first Super Bowl title in 2017, winning the game's MVP award with three passing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown in the victory over the New England Patriots. With that said, Foles has produced mostly average numbers when on the field, finishing the past season with just 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions in seven starts including the playoffs. His last real action outside Philadelphia was a miserable 2015 season with the St. Louis Rams.
