Objective:Students will answer questions regarding various topics to familiarize themselves with the text.
Do Now: Answer one of the following questions.
1.) Explain what the phrase “sweet sorrow” means to you.
2.) When you hear someone mention Romeo and Juliet what comes to mind?

Aim: How can we analyze themes and make predictions concerning the plot of Romeo and Juliet?
Objective: Students will answer questions regarding various topics to familiarize themselves with the text.
Agenda
1). Do Now: Answer one or both questions, turn and talk with your tablemates. Captains will prepare to share with the class.
2). Work Period/Four Corners: Students will be given various statements on a handout, they will check off whether they agree or disagree, along with one sentence to backup their stance. They will move to corresponding sections of the class based on their answers and explain to their peers their reasoning.
3). Reflections: Reflections: Based on the questions asked in the pre-reading worksheet make one prediction about the play. Prediction can be concerning the plot, characters, themes, etc.
