2 Bullets Any learning target on the report card that has a bullet means that we did not need to assess that area this quarter.

4 Bullets If your child has already mastered the skill the previous quarter, you will see a bullet for the remaining quarters.

6 Grades Students will receive a B, P, or M for each learning target.
A rubric is used to determine the appropriate grade.

7 Learning Targets Have Many Components
Please note that the learning targets have many components. In order for your child to receive an M, they must be able to master all components listed under MEETS.

9 A Copy of the Rubric A copy of the rubric can be accessed on the website. Click on the parents tab, elementary report cards, report card manuals, kindergarten report card manual

10 Things to Remember Please remember: Just because your child can complete all of the components for you at home does not mean they are able to perform for us at school. They need to be consistent. For the second quarter you may see a lot of B’s and P’s. THIS IS EXPECTED as we expect your child to be meeting all learning targets by the end of the year.

11 Letter and Sound Recognition
Any letters and sounds your child is having difficulty identifying will be listed in the comment section of the report card. Please note that students need to be able to identify all letter sounds and 3 digraphs (ch, sh, th) in order to receive an M for produces letter sounds.

12 Social Science, Science, and Health
Your child will receive a B, P, or M for Social Science, Science, and Health. If your child received a B this means that he or she did not actively participate in that content area.

13 Art, Music, P.E. Your child will receive a B, P, or M for each special. If you have specific questions regarding your child’s grade in one of these specials, you will need to reach out to the specialist teacher.

14 Characteristics of Learning
Your child will receive an I for inconsistently demonstrates or a C for consistently demonstrates for the following characteristics of learning: Puts forth effort when completing work Seeks help when needed Demonstrates self-control Works independently Follows multi-step oral directions Follows class routine without prompting Shows respect for others, self, and property Works productively in a group Uses available resources to solve problems Cooperates with peers during unstructured activities

15 Attendance Your child’s attendance will be displayed at the bottom of the first page of the report card. There will be an X indicating if your child’s attendance or tardies have affected their learning. Your child’s teacher will also note this in the comment section.

16 Conference You always have an opportunity to arrange a conference with your child’s teacher throughout the school year. Since our report cards are sent electronically, you will need to reach out to the teacher via or phone to set up a conference.
