1 The Proposed Community Hub – Public Consultation
Manor Farm Community Hub Our Vision The Public Consultation on 19th September 2018 between 3.30pm and 7.30pm, which we hope as many of you as possible will be able to attend at some point, is a valuable and possibly the only opportunity we will have to feed our ideas as individuals and as a community into the shape and form of the new community hub facility, which BCC have promised will form part of the building development work on the St. Peter’s site. Members of your Manor Farm Community Hub core group will be present throughout the event and we will enable your views to be heard, recorded and passed onto BCC to form part of the planning and design process. So … how big do you think the space should be overall? How many rooms? What size rooms? Should there be open access to the outside / green space? What about storage for items used by groups who will meet here? What sort of cooking and catering facilities should there be? Should the building stand alone or be part of a residential block? What about parking? Do we want it to open direct onto a patio-type outdoor space? Where within the whole site should the facility sit – close to the road or set further back? Road access? Pedestrian access? Green/eco features of the design and fixtures and fittings? What else?? This is our chance to get it right and ask for what we want for our community! We cannot guarantee that all our ideas and wishes can or will be integrated into the plans but if we don’t ask we will very definitely not get what we want. We are very much looking forward to meeting you on the 19th September and receiving your contributions as well as trying to answer any concerns and questions you may have at this point Anna George, Chair of Manor Farm Community Hub To promote the benefit of the residents of Manor Farm and the neighbourhood without gender, political, religious, ethnic or other discriminations by associating with local authorities, voluntary organisations and local residents in a common effort to advance our aim of working to secure and to provide facilities within Manor Farm in the interests of social welfare and positive recreation and leisure time with the aim of enhancing the lives of Manor Farm residents.
