Guidelines for Student Presentations

Requirements Each of you is required to participate in the class project Once completed, you’ll be required to report to the class as to the outcome of your specific project experience.

The Project Class Project: You will be asked to give up some “personal” technology habits during your “off-hours” Duration: three consecutive days Use the time to do something else (preferably with someone else) such as; family activities, sports, dinner date, conversation, etc. What to do without: and Web Access Television/Cable Access Texting

What’s Expected Present a comprehensive overview of your experience.
How did it effect your life (positive or negative) Report on the good and bad experiences Present your experiences to the class via a PowerPoint presentation, Give your impression as to: How easy/difficult was the transition Has the experience helped, or disrupted your life (or both) Did the project help you better connect with someone, or something Your personal observations/experiences as to the impact of technology on your life (too much, too little, etc)

Format of the Presentation
The presentation should be made with Microsoft PowerPoint Prepare a 10 minute max. presentation the presentation file to the instructor prior* to the class meeting - We will use the classroom PC for presentations *This does not mean 30 minutes before class

Do’s and Don’ts Do ….. …use outside examples to make your point (and/or the author’s) …use personal experiences to embellish the presentation …use a casual and engaging presentation style Do Not simply read your slides “word for word” to the audience!!
