1 Station 1 [A- C] Give a real world example of each of the 3 ways a car can accelerate [D] The velocity of a car increases from 20 m/s at 3.0 seconds to 45 m/s at 6.0 seconds. What is the car's average acceleration?

2 Station 2 [A] How would a person walk to create a horizontal line on a distance vs time graph? [B] How much time would it take for the sound of thunder to travel meters if sound travels at the speed of 330 m/s?

3 Station 3 [A] What is the difference between speed and velocity?
[B] A car slows down for a school zone, 40 m/s. It takes him 20 seconds to slow down at an acceleration of -1 m/s2. what was his initial velocity?

4 Station 4 Using the graph above answer the questions below
[A] What is the acceleration of the object? [B] Calculate the distance the car traveled during the first 3 seconds

5 Station 5 Use the graph above to answer the questions below
[A] During which time interval is the object moving at a constant speed [B] At what time does the object change directions [C] Describe how a car would move to recreate the graph above.

6 Station 6 [A] If an object has a positive acceleration and a negative velocity, is the car speeding up or slowing down. [B] If an object has a negative velocity and a negative acceleration is the object speeding up or slowing down [C] A car moving westward along a straight, level road increases its velocity uniformly from 16 m/s to 32 m/s in 8.0 s. What is the car’s acceleration?

7 Station 7 [A] What are the units for acceleration, velocity, displacement, and time? [B] What equation do you use to find the average velocity of an object? [C] A car starting from rest accelerates uniformly at 4.1 m/s2 for 7.0 seconds. How far does the car move?

8 Use the Moving Man PHET Simulation at https://phet. colorado
Use the Moving Man PHET Simulation at moving-man . Run the simulation. Click on the Graph section, move the man to positon 0m and complete the two scenarios. [A] The man starts at the tree and moves toward the house with constant velocity. [B] A man wakes up from his nap under the tree and speeds up toward the house. He stops because he is worried that he dropped his keys. He stands still as he searches his pockets for his keys. Once he finds them, he continues calmly to walk toward the house and then slows to a stop as he nears the door. Station 8: Moving Man
