It is not repressing sin.

1. Getting rid of the old sinful ways of
thinking and acting.
2. Developing new, godly ways of thinking
and acting.

Abstain from fleshly lusts (1 Pet. 2:11).
Make no provision for the flesh (Rom. 13:14).
Put on Jesus (Rom. 13:14).
Study and meditate on God’s word (Psa. 119:11).

5. Putting Sin To Death How to put sin to death:
Watch and pray (Mat. 26:41).
Exercise self-control (1 Cor. 9:25-27)
Be filled with the Holy Spirit (Eph. 5:18).

6. Putting Sin To Death This process is continual.
The war we are fighting is on-going.
We must always have an attitude of humility and total dependence upon God while engaged in this war.
