To motivate the students, we look at the Ittens circle of colours
To motivate the students, we look at the Ittens circle of colours. We ask questions: What colours are opposite? Can we put together something that is opposite? Than, we talk abouth friendship. Who is your best friend? Why? What do you have incommon? Can someone, who is of a different race, religion or gender be your friend? We talk about race and gender stereotypes. If someone is not of the same skin colour as we, can we be friends? Can boys be friend with girls? Can girls be friend with boys? Is there such a thing as ”boys“ or ”girls“ colours? Can you further explain your answer? Can opposite colours ”be friends“ on art work? Then students draw their hands and friends hands on paper, than paint with distemper using opposite colours. When they are finished,we exhibit the paintings on the blackboard and analyse it. Hope you enjoy your work!
