1. November 5th, 1922
Although I was satisfied because I was before what it could be a great finding, probably the one of the lost tombs which I had been looking for during many years, I was amazed by the small entrance, unlike other royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Its design clearly belonged to the XVIII dinasty, but, …could it be just the tomb of a noble buried there under the consentiment of the king? I had no evidence at all so far in my investigations….
If I had known that if I had digged a little more I could have seen the seal with the name of Tutankhamun, I would have continued working that day, …but I didn’t do it…it was getting late, night was falling and the full moon had risen in the night sky. I filled again with sand the place to protect it from robbery, and along with my workers, I came back home and wrote a telegraph to Lord Carnarvor, who was in England, with this message:
“We have finally made a great discovery in the Valley of the Kings. A magnificient tomb with the seals untouched. Everything locked until your arrival. Congratulations. Carter.

3. The finding of the tomb of Tutankhamun was one of the most important discovery for the worldwide archaeology. For the first time it was possible to behold the funeral treasures which were found inside, although some of them had been stolen by the thieves in the past. There were more than objects such as thrones, chairs, beds, arks, war charriots, jewls, vases with leftovers of wine inside, baskets with food, statuettes of gods, statues of the Pharaoh, alabaster lamps, games, weapons, clothes, etc...and, above all, the coffin with the mummy of the Pharaoh himself wearing his amulets. 
Thanks to all these objects we can know a lot more about daily life in Ancient Egypt.
