PART 1 (3 minutes) The examiner will ask you both to talk briefly about yourself by answering questions such as: Where are you from? What do you like about living in your town? What is there for young people to do in your area? What do you like to do in your free time? Would you like to live abroad? What are your plans for the future?

PART 2 (3-4 minutes) Each of you will talk about for a minute without interruption. You will each have two different photos to talk about. You must compare, contrast and speculate. You will ask a question to your partner.

PART 2 Each of the candidates will give a brief description of each photograph. Do not describe in detail (remember, one minute!) If you are not sure about what to say, try to use your imagination! Compare Contrast Speculate

PART 2 When you first see the photographs think why the examiners have chosen them. Do not focus on small details (e.g. physical appearance, unless it is important for the topic) You could talk generally or connect it with your own experience.

PART 3 (about 3 minutes) You will be asked to discuss together without interruption. The examiner will give something to look at to help you (a map, photographs, advertisements, etc). You have a question and visual support. Make sure you both know what you must talk about. If not, don’t be afraid to ask the examiner. Co-operative work, exchanging information, turn-taking.

PART 4 (about 4 minutes) The examiner will ask you both to discuss some ideas connected with part 3. He will ask you both to develop some related questions. Do not repeat the same ideas! Express your opinion and/or comment your partner’s ideas. Co-operative discussion, Turn-taking. Equal talking time. Encourage your partner (“What do you think about that?”) Agreeing or disagreeing with your partner Expressing “for” or “against” views
