Operational Concepts Bughouse is a team-based variant of chess.
For strictly 4 players. Our proposal is a client game system for Bughouse. Ours would be the first such system designed solely for Bughouse.

Sample Game

System Requirements Chat client that will run in browser, with capability to create a game room. Player profiles which will include login names, player descriptions, and a rating determined by past wins/losses. Rankings of players with the best win/loss record.

System and Software Architecture
Our project will use Java to create the browser-based chat and game client, and to build the webserver. SQL will be used for storing player profiles, rankings, and login names Components include web server code, database code, and a GUI for chat, game board.

Life Cycle Plan Assuming we don’t start this week, we have 8 weeks.
Ideally, we plan for 1 week of planning, 4 weeks for development, and 3 weeks for QA. Hope to split up into 4 subteams with 1-2 people in each subteam.

Feasibility Rationale
We would need people with a background in networking, databases, and GUI design. Our biggest risk is that we are shooting for too large of a project, especially in terms of the network requirements.
