Thoracic – contains heart & lungs Separated from the inferior cavity by the diaphragm Mediastinum – separates right/left lungs; houses heart & trachea Abdominopelvic Abdominal – stomach, liver, intestines Pelvic – repro. organs, bladder, & rectum

Cranial cavity – space inside the bony skull, occupied by the brain Spinal cavity – extends from the cranial cavity nearly to the end of the vertebral column (space surrounded by vertebrae, occupied by the spinal cord)
