MEALS ON TOUR Generally breakfast and dinner are included on tour, with lunch on your own. Please refer to your detailed itinerary for tour-specific information. Breakfast at your hotel typically includes cereal, bread or rolls, jam, juice, coffee and tea. Lunch is your chance to make culinary discoveries of your own. Your Tour Director can make recommendations. Included dinners will be a mix of familiar dishes and local specialties from a set menu, either at a local restaurant or at your hotel. Table water is always provided free of charge; bottled water is provided in countries where deemed necessary by locals. Travelers are expected to pay for soft drinks and other beverages at dinner. Travelers should expect portion size to be smaller than what they are accustomed to at home. Any travelers with dietary restrictions should communicate these details to EF prior to tour and reiterate them with their Tour Director.

SPENDING MONEY ON TOUR We recommend planning on approximately $60 per day for spending money. This should cover lunches, beverages, souvenirs, free time activities and additional excursions. At the start of tour, travelers should bring the equivalent of $60 in the currency of the initial destination. After that, ATMs are the most convenient way to withdraw cash since they accept a wide variety of bank and credit cards. Before you travel, you should familiarize yourself with the current exchange rates for the U.S. dollar to the local currency of the destinations on your tour. We strongly advise against traveler’s checks since they can be difficult to cash. Be sure to alert your bank and your credit card company to let them know that you will be traveling abroad and make sure your cards will work. You should also find out if there are any fees associated with using your cards abroad.
