What the Bible says about heaven
Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:13
6
What the Bible says about heaven
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. Revelation 22:14-15
7
You should be obedient because sin is a real problem.
8
Sin comes with a high price
1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear.2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2
9
Sin comes with a high price
5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 1 John 1:5-6
10
Sin comes with a high price
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1
11
Christ paid the price …and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
12
Man still can be condemned…
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
13
Man still can be condemned…
7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
14
Man still can be condemned…
11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. Romans 6:7-13
15
You should be obedient because You only have one life
16
This physical life is not forever
4 “Lord, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am.5 Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor.
17
This physical life is not forever
6 Surely every man walks about like a shadow; Surely they busy themselves in vain; He heaps up riches, And does not know who will gather them.7 “And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You. Psalms 39:4-7
18
What does Philippians 1:22 mean to you?
But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. Philippians 1:22
19
Conclusion 1. We have only looked at a few reasons to be obedient, there are too many to count. 2. Have you found enough reasons to be faithful?
