2. What is a stem changing verb?
Change the ending (like normal) and the stem.
You just have to learn the specific verbs.
Look at the patterns within the stem changes.
There are 3* main types of stem changing verbs:
e -> ie Querer: Yo quiero
e -> i Repetir: Yo repito
o -> ue Dormir: Yo duermo
*u ->ue Jugar: Yo juego

3. e -> ie
The ending will generally be the same as before, but now you have to change an “e” from the stem to an “ie”
Los verbos e->ie:
Querer – to want
Comenzar – to begin Pensar – to think
Cerrar – to close
Perder – to lose Entender – to understand
Mentir – to lie
Preferir – to prefer Sentir – to feel
