Suffer from ‘Failure To Launch Syndrome’- an inability to live on their own and accept consequences for their actions

3. Affluenza
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, help yourself out now. Don’t spend any more money on unnecessary items like cell phones. You don’t need to buy those new shoes, and certainly not the latest iPod. Get outside, go for a walk, enjoy the beauty that the real world and what nature has to offer.

4. SPOILED v. INDULGED
Spoiled: this is a situation in the relationship between a child and parent in which the child gets what they want and there is no benefit for the parent
Indulged: explains the situation in which the child gets what they want but the parent also benefits in the exchange

Middle class parents over the past two decades have lavished their new found wealth on their kids because:
The parents themselves feel they were deprived as kids and need to make up for it
The parents are living vicariously through their children (think hockey moms and dads!)
Parents are trying to reduce a deeply felt guilt about not spending enough time with their kids (the classic ‘buy their love’ syndrome)
They have an abundance of wealth
