Cells were then fixed, permeabilized, and incubated with 3 nM of Alexa Fluor 488-labeled antisense RNA probe to detect dFMR1 mRNA (panels 6 and 8) or with Alexa Fluor 488-labeled sense probe (panels 2 and 4) as control. dFMRP granules were visualized as green fluorescence.
