4 Tip 3: Last Places Visited
7/19/2019 9:39 AM Tip 3: Last Places Visited If you visit a lot of the same pages, click on the down carrot next to the back and forth arrows next to the file path bar. It will display links to the last pages you opened and you can select to return to them quickly. Michael For Those who prefer a quick list for frequently used pages as opposed to typing the search bar or taking long menu paths. Use the Down Carrot next to the navigation arrows. This will display a list of the last places visit ( note: it does clear if you close your session). Items are listed in reverse order and are limited to the last 10. 7 7/19/2019 9:39 AM Tip 6: Add Freeze Panes Keep the leftmost columns in place on any list! If you use the horizontal scroll bar to view all columns on a list page or on document lines, then you can add a vertical freeze pane to restrict some columns from scrolling. MIKE Much of NAV presentation on screen consists of “lists”. As these can get quite lengthy it can be easier to read if you freeze columns on your list, Much like you do in Excel. LIZ Type “Cue Setup” in search bar User Name field - For each Cue, you can set up an indicator for all users in the company or a specific user. 11 Tip 10: Enter Quantities by Calculation
7/19/2019 9:39 AM Tip 10: Enter Quantities by Calculation When entering numbers into quantity fields, such as the Quantity field on an item journal line, you can enter the formula instead of the sum quantity. Examples If you enter 19+19, the field is calculated to 38. If you enter 41-9, the field is calculated to 32. If you enter 12*4, the field is calculated to 48. Warning shows a pop-up of quantities exceeding available Prevention will block posting resulting in a negative value Set on Item Card Take into account the item’s replenishment setup (i.e. assemble to order) Caution: watch expected receipt dates LIZ Navigate to item card, edit, general tab Stockout Warning - Specifies if a warning is displayed when you enter a quantity on a sales document that brings the item’s inventory below zero (includes all sales document lines that have not yet been posted) Prevent Negative Inventory - Specifies if you can post a transaction that will bring the item’s inventory below zero If a purchase/production order has an expected receipt date prior to the date you are entering the sales order (even if its not posted) the system factors that in as available © 2016 Dynamic Communities.
