Immunodetection of NRs mediating ecdysone signalling in the ring gland during larval development.
Immunodetection of NRs mediating ecdysone signalling in the ring gland during larval development. (A) Representation of the cyclic ecdysone production during larval life. The time points of the ecdysone peaks are indicated by black arrows whose thicknesses are relative to steroid titres (Bialecki et al., 2002; Parvy et al., 2005; Richards, 1981; Warren et al., 2006). (B) Scheme of a ring gland: CA, corpora allata; CC, corpora cardiaca; SC, steroidogenic cells; Tr, trachea. In all the figures, the ring glands are oriented anterior to the top. (C) Scheme of the expression of EcR, E75A, DHR3 and βFtz-f1 in the steroidogenic cells during the L2 and L3 stages according to the supplementary material (supplementary material Figs S1, S2, S4 and S5). (D-S) Ring glands of mid L1 (D-G), mid L2 (H-K), late L3 (L-O) larvae and prepupae (P-S) were stained with antibody to EcR (D,H,L,P), E75 (E,I,M,Q), DHR3 (F,J,N,R) and βFtz-f1 (G,K,O,S). Scale bars: 10 µm. Jean-Philippe Parvy et al. Development 2014;141: © Published by The Company of Biologists Ltd
