6 Barbara or Malcolm Other projects might focus on the ‘local community’ box, or on the ‘DSO box’. WP5 will deliver the data exchange arrows in the box on lower RHS. LEO allows us to delve into the box marked ‘Aggregator’ – with WP2 understanding the interactions within this box and the impact of multiple data flows to the local market. WP4 will use our outputs to better plan for the whole system… WP3 is represented by the increased number of community actors shown across the top box; through LEO we can deliver more flex assets and understand the information flows required here (i.e. draw red lines in that space)…for example (next slide)

9 In the beginning… Hub develops, installs and manages renewable energy assets Investors become shareholders in the Hub Income generated is split into three ways: cheaper and clean electricity for the host and associated CO2 reduction - In the case of schools is also a powerful educational resource investors get a fair return on their investment and a stake in local renewable energy generation – a valuable asset The community benefit, which is used to as direct help to other community projects such as Abingdon Hydro, Goring and Streatley Hydro, Southill Solar to name a few and to help develop new, innovative ways to deploy community energy such as Woodshare presented by Tom Curtis, or local balancing with Energy Local presented by Mary Gillie This is local investment that stays local This is money that otherwise would be siphoned off the local economy – part of our current electricity price consists of dividends paid to international investors With this model the money stays local and creates a carbon cutting chain of benefits
