2. Chemistry Lecture 1
Course Outline
This course will cover some of the basic concepts of chemistry including atoms, molecules and ions, solution stoichiometry, introductory thermochemistry, electronic structure of atoms, basic chemical bonding and molecular geometry, periodic properties of the elements and the properties of gases, liquids & solids.

3. Chemistry Lecture 1
The lecture portion of this course will be based on topics covered in chapters 1-13 (omit 11) in the course textbook. Although the textbook sequence will be followed fairly closely, it should be noted that the content of the course and the lectures will not necessarily be limited by the scope of the text. Thus, the full content of the course can only be realized by regular attendance at class.

4. Chemistry Lecture 1
The end-of-chapter problems that are assigned have been selected to highlight the topics covered in each chapter. Since the term tests and examination will be primarily composed of comparable problems, careful attention to these problems and their solutions is VERY highly recommended.

You MUST pass the final examination to obtain a passing grade in the course.
Attendance at the laboratory is mandatory. Inexcusable absenteeism or incomplete laboratory reports will result in a grade of INCOMPLETE in the laboratory which will result in a grade of INCOMPLETE in the course.
