1 2 Feet of Snow

2 Guilty as charged! I. The Moral Person (2:1–11)
A. The plea rendered (2:1a): The moral person says, “I should be acquitted on grounds that I am not as bad as some sinners are.” B. The plea refuted (2:1b–11) 1. The reason for this (2:1b–4): God says, “You do the same basic things, only in a more refined way!” 2. The results of this (2:5–11) a. To be the object of God’s terrible wrath (2:5–8) b. To experience sorrow and suffering (2:9–11)

3 Guilty as charged! II. The Pagan Person (2:12-16) A. The Plea Rendered (vs.12-13): “as many as have sinned without Law will also perish without Law.” B. The Plea Refuted (2:14–15): the three witnesses are brought forward.

4 The Three Witnesses 1st Witness – (vs.14) man’s nature: an instinctive knowledge of right and wrong. 2nd Witness – (vs.15a) man’s conscience: bear witness to what is right and wrong. 3rd Witness – (vs.15b) man’s thoughts: accuse or defend their behavior.

5 God Will Judge John 5:22, 27 Acts 17:31
Vs.22 - “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:” …vs.27 -”And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of man.” “Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead.”

6 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved…whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13
