3. Progress Report - Introduction
WD recommend that cc is considered in 1st RBMP, with emphasis on check of PoM
Questionnaire was sent in April to collect best practices and approaches for a climate check of the first PoMs.
By 15 October response from 22 countries
No response from CY, EE, GR, IT, LT and PL

4. Progress Report - Summary 1
Many studies are carried out on river basin management and cc
18 countries indicated that cc will be addressed in 1st plan. 8 will have separate chapter. 4 have not yet decided.
10 countries will undertake a climate check of the PoM, methodologies vary.

5. Progress Report - Summary 2
In general, measures in 1st plan are win-win/no-regret for adaptation to climate change
E.g. water use efficiency, land use planning, flood management, measures addressing hymo pressures & diffuse/point source pollution
Not likely that measures will be counter-productive
6 countries will include specific adaptation measures, 12 have not yet decided

6. Progress Report - Follow-up
Progress report is presented to SCG for information
SCG is requested to agree that it will be presented to WD
No best practices/approaches identified among the responses, but responses (and if possible further information based on responses) will serve as illustration for comprehensive guidance

7. Comprehensive guidance CC and Water
To be endorsed by WD end of 2009
SSG has discussed Table of Content in September
First draft will be available in April 2009
Drafting of chapters will be coordinated by different SSG members in coming months
