Innovation
A secure platform to help residents connect with their neighbours in different ways, to:
formally volunteer to support a vulnerable adult nearby
meet others with shared interests or situations
offer and/or receive neighbourly help with a variety of small tasks.
Design approach
Design is essential to clarify the different ways in which residents can connect. It must be very clear that some connections are made with the support of a voluntary organization and others are peer to peer. Our approach is participatory, we are holding workshops with voluntary organisations, local authorities and citizens.

Relation to the urbanscape
Ami and Socialise were created in a direct response to the urban challenge of loneliness and social isolation. We challenge citizens to break down barriers and connect with more of their neighbours. In new urban housing developments we challenge residents to normalize high levels of social connections. We also support voluntary organisations and local authorities to work with and support local communities to become more connected.
Scaling up prospects
A regional network of collaborations through our 80+ local authority clients will enable us to scale up across the UK. Another key factor will be the securing of a national partner in the voluntary sector.
