The CERT radio repeater project was created to provide additional “bandwidth” to support the expected heavy volume of traffic that will occur on the CERT “yellow box” net during a city wide emergency and provide city wide mobile coverage.
The EBRCSA communications system offered our CERT organization the opportunity to mount a very efficient and effective radio antenna on a newly installed tower adjacent to Hwy 24 in the BART right-of-way.
Rotary funds financed a major portion of that expense!
