Most people would agree that the teen years are fraught with danger. Between high school bullies, learning to drive, navigating peer pressure and existing in a world that dangerous at every corner, teens face more perils that ever before. Teens are still developing reflexes, and the part of their brain that makes good judgments isn’t going to be fully developed until they are about twenty. Statistics for teen road accidents are on the rise, namely due to texting and driving, and the death rate for teens is “twice that of people over twenty” (Cormac n.p.) Life poses enough dangers to young people, and they don’t need to go courting trouble. Because of this, high-adrenaline sports, such as skydiving and bungee jumping, should be banned for anyone under eighteen.
