Overview: As a result of various arising conflicts, the founding fathers had convened in order to discuss these problems. Under the Articles of Confederation, the states retained much of the powers that was contained within government. In May of , 55 delegates from the states arrived in Philadelphia to discuss the amending of the Articles or the writing of whole new government. They chose to write a new government, thus calling this meeting the Constitutional Convention.

Overview: Although, they all agreed that this young nation’s government needed to be fixed; they spent majority of their time debating on how representation would look. They spent nearly two months debating this issue and finally made progress late into July with what is known as the Connecticut Compromise. The question for this DBQ is centered around how divisive representation was within the development of our government.
