Team Journey Service Project 2019
Benefitting a charity nominated by Team Journey students Feb 21st and Feb 26th

Making a Difference For the last six years, NMS has done a service project. The money raised has gone to various causes. This year, we want to continue to make a difference for those in need. Here is a look back at the history behind the service project, previous years’ successes, and our plans for this year. ….

Where it all Began: The Jimmy V Foundation
Former Students Tommy Kelly and Logan Hitchcock raised money for the Jimmy V Foundation. The Jimmy V. Foundation raises money for cancer research and the fight against cancer. The boys ran a basketball camp the summer before 8th grade … Here are Tommy and Logan with Tommy’s grandfather (they raised the money in his honor)

Making a Difference Each year the hot shot tournament had many female and male participants. The teachers even played!

Recipe for Success! Six years ago Abby Jett and Joe Egan won the final round of the hot shot tournament.

Recipe for Success! We have raised almost $8,500 over the last six years. This year’s goal: to raise another $650!

To summarize, this year’s service project will benefit the Feb 21st & 26th we will competing in basketball shooting Let’s join together to help

Let’s join together to help. 2 days of service during drop period… -day 1- hot shot seeding -day 2- hot shot tournament -Homeroom donations (ongoing) -candy sales day 1 & 2

Homeroom Competition: (3 parts)
-part 1= homeroom total money donated -part 2= percentage of students donating (minimum $1) -part 3= percentage of students who compete in the hot shot tournament

-Sign-ups and donations start in homeroom Monday 2/11/19!!!!!!! -Basketball participants= $5 entrance fee for b-ball tournament top b-ball scores on day 1 determine day 2 Candy sales- $1; anyone can buy candy Winning HR gets donuts! Yum!
