Geothermal Energy Production

Energy Pricing The cost is very cheap with a very small price range, it changes from $0.03 kw/h to $0.035 kw/h so it is not very expensive. It is unlike oil with no rapid price changes. The price is expected to remain the same since it is very inexpensive and there are only a small number of powerstations that use geothermal energy.
3
How is Geothermal Energy Generated?
Geothermal energy is usually produced with steam coming up from the ground, the steam moves a turbine that activates a generator, some plants use fossil fuels to burn water to produce their steam.
4
Geothermal Plants in Washington State
Washington State has no geothermal plants but there is one plant in Chena,Alaska.
5
Geothermal Plants in B.C.
There are no geothermal energy plants in British Columbia although there are many prospective spots in southern B.C.
6
History of Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy has been used for many centuries, but it only just started being used for energy in 1922 when the first attempt was made, the first plant was in California in 1960
7
Pros and Cons Pros One of the most abundant resources on Earth.
Lifetime costs are cheaper compared to others. Very eco-friendly Cons The energy can't be transported. The first costs are expensive. Maintanence requires caution. To reach the energy, the Earth must be drilled very deep.
