freedom of speech
the right to carry guns
the right not to give evidence against yourself
the right to vote

3. The Responsibilities of US citizens
obey the law
respect the rights of others
participate in the democracy of the country (NB this is not compulsory)
to pay taxes

4. How the Constitution Protects the rights of US citizens
They are part of the Constitution so people can take legal action if they are denied them
people can take ‘political’ action - i.e. use their right to participate, e.g. protests, demonstrations etc.
the highest court in the land - The Supreme Court - protects the rights of US citizens
