Fig 2 Gross findings on (A) the dorsal side of the lungs at procurement and (B) the lungs in the ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) chamber 80 minutes after the start of perfusion. The left lower lobe (LLL) appeared severely edematous and not fully expanded, despite repeated recruitment maneuvers on the EVLP rig. In contrast, the other lobes, including the right lower lobe (RLL), which initially appeared injured, showed improvement on gross appearance during EVLP.
